KAPEKS ANFO-L

BOOSTER SENSITIVE EMULSION EXPLOSIVE

About the Product

KAPEKS ANFO-L is a low density ANFO type produced by mixing ANFO and emulsion to obtain high heave energy in soft rocktypes. Thanks to its low density, it provides full column charge in long and large hole diameter blastholes with desired powder factor without the necessity of deck charging.

Product Features

  • Due to its low velocity of detonation, it is an ideal product for use at open pits and special applications to improve final slope stability
  • Provides a superior performance in soft rock types due to its high heave energy.
  • Provides an optimum charge distribution throughout the hole due to its free flowing nature.
  • When stored properly, it has a 1 (one) year long shelf life since the date of manufacture.
  • At the endof its shelf life,it decomposes completely to harmless materials.

Ignition Information

KAPEKS ANFO-L is initiated withcap sensitive explosives. In order to get optimum blasting performance the diameter of the cap sensitive explosive should be as close as to the diameter of the blasthole. In order for KAPEKS ANFO-L to reach its steady velocity of detonation, length of the cap sensitive exploslve should also be sufficient and length of the cartridge should be five times its diameter. In case KAPEKS ANFO-L is charged to blastholes pneumatically, care should be taken to use anti-static hose. Usually used in medium to large diameter holes. It is not efficient in holes smaller than 70mm diameter. Furthermore, it is not advised to initiate these small diameter holes using detonating cord.
