KAPEKS ANFO is a booster sensitive explosive prepared by mixing 94% porous prilled ammonium nitrate as oxidizer and 6% fueloil by weight as fuel considering the oxygen balance. Highly porous ammonium nitrate with high fuel oil absorption capacity is used in the production in order to have desired specifications. It has a high heave energy.
KAPEKS ANFO is initiated withcap sensitive explosives. In order to get optimum blasting performance, the diameter of the cap sensitive explosive should be as close as to the diameter of the blasthole. In order for KAPEKS ANFO to reach its steadyvelocity of detonation, length of the cap sensitive explosive should alsobe sufficient and length of the cartridge should be five times its diameter. In case KAPEKS ANFO is charged to blastholes pneumatically, care should be taken to use anti-static hose. It is not advised to use detonating cord for initiationin small diameter blastholes.
