About the Product
KAPEKS Kontur is a cap sensitive emulsion explosive designed to use for presplitting at underground perimeter control applications and tunnels as well as open pit final walls. It provides a homogeneous charge distribution along the perimeter holes and ensures a smooth section with minimum overbreak.
Product Features
- It is a sturdy and chemically stable product which provides superior performance anda safe working environment.
- lts application is ideal for holes with water and moisture. lts performance is not affected due to being a water-resistant product.
- lts water-based formulation does not include hazardous chemicals like nitroglycerin or TNT; it is an ideal product for underground blasting due to its excellent post-blast fume characteristics.
- It is relatively safer than the nitroglycerin based explosives for accidental initiations by shock, friction or mechanical impacts.
- When stored properly, it has a 1 (one) year long shelf life since the date of manufacture.
- At the end of its shelf life, it decomposes completely to harmless materials.
Ignition Information
KAPEKS Kontur cartridges are produced in plastic tubes and canbe initiated with any type of detonators with #8strength. It is not advised to use detonating cords for initiation. With the use of connection apparatus at the ends of the tubes, cartridges canbe connected and lined-up in proper position within the blasthole easily.
Packaging Description
KAPEKS Kontur is produced in plastic tubes with 19x750 mm and 24x750 mm dimensions and packed in 20 kg reinforced cardboard boxes. Each box is barcoded and marked with a serial number for traceability.

Storage Conditions
