KAPEKSDET SD is a short delay non-electric surface detonator system designed to provide surface delay times and provide flexibility and ease of use in blasting applications. KAPEKSDET SD series are suitable for providing desired delay times and designing flexible blasting designs when used in connection with in-hole detonators. It has 5 delay choices of 17, 2S, 42, 67 and 109 ms. Thanks to surface delay detonator blocks, up to for 6 shock tubes can be initiated together.
KAPEKSDET SD can be initiated with KAPEKSDET shock tube surface delay elements, electrical caps or any detonating cord with minimum 5 gr/m PETN. Connections of the surface connector blocks between the blastholes should not be too tight. This may cause a misfire during initiation. Shock tube should not be damaged during charging or stemming. Same delay period KAPEKSDET MS in-hole detonators should be used lor all blastholes in a blast; and depending on the application, different KAPEKSDET SD surface connectors should be used to control the firing sequence. KAPEKSDET SD is not designed to initiate detonating cords. Misfires might occur if used for this purpose. Surface connector block has an initiation system containing explosives and might initiate when subjected to impact, extreme heat or friction.
KAPEKSDET SD assemblies arecoiled in figure 8 or figure 0, packed in anti·static polyethylene bags and put into cardboard boxes.
